Witcham is situated just 5 miles from the historic city of Ely and is easily accessible on the A142. CB6 2LB.

 

Witcham Village Hall is sited in the middle of the village, next to the recreation field and children’s play area. The village hall was originally built in 1967 and a major refurbishment was completed in 2017 bringing facilities right up-to-date. There is ample car parking on-site and disabled access.

"If you are looking for a well appointed venue for your wedding, and want to avoid an "industry package", then look no further than Witcham Village Hall. We used it for two family weddings, both for 95 guests. For the first we catered ourselves; Waitrose delivered the food to the door, which we were able to store where necessary in the fridges, and heat things up in the ovens. The hall will offer to run a bar, or you can bring in your own drinks. For the second, we hired caterers, who found it very easy to deliver and serve the food. The decor is neutral, freshly decorated, with nice flooring everywhere.

The kitchen is well appointed, roomy, spotlessly clean, with multiple surfaces for preparation, and a good amount of crockery and cutlery. If you want something a bit more special you can hire in your own table linen and table ware.

​

The main hall offers tables and chairs which can be arranged to seat everyone comfortably. The chairs are upholstered, and well fit for purpose. It is light and airy, and doors and windows may be opened.

​

The second room, off the main room and kitchen, is such a good space with the bar at on end. The central space is large enough to lay out a buffet, have guests help themselves, and take their food back to the main room. It has folding doors, so you can isolate from the main hall if you want to tidy up discreetly at any time, and is accessed from the kitchen...the design of the building "flows".

The entrance hall is just great for greeting guests. There is space for a formal welcome party, and areas for collecting any presents, or putting a table for guests to sign a book or leave messages. There are ladies', gent's and disabled toilet facilities, again modern and spotless. An added bonus is the village green on which the hall stands on the north side. Outside and use the playground facilities which children can enjoy.

For both our weddings, we asked all the guests to step outside when the meal and speeches were finished, and with some help, cleared the tables back into storage, put chairs around the sides of the hall and the second room, and held a Ceilidh to continue the event.

There is a fair amount of space in the car park, and roadside parking is also permitted.

In short, this is THE place to have a happy, relaxed celebration...a wedding, or an anniversary, big birthday...it will adapt to all your needs for up to 100 people. Book now! "
